About After School Rec

After-School REC is a recreational program that strives to reinforce healthy behavior skills, positive attitudes, and study skills learned in school. In addition to homework assistance, the group will engage in reading time and a variety of recreational activities including arts & crafts, sports & games, field trips, special visitors and more. 

The After School REC program will be held at Acquinton Elementary School. A staff member will walk all children attending Cool Spring Primary School over to Acquinton for the program.  Program runs from 3-6pm, Monday through Friday.  


Pricing and Supplies

Fee listed is for the entire school calendar year. (Cost breaks down to $50/week.) Please Note: The weekly fee is already pro-rated for days when the program is closed for staff development, early dismissal and/or school closure. 

Punch Cards Expire at the end of the school year each year. Please be sure to use all of your punches they will not be applied to the next school year. 

Sibling Discounts: There will be a 7% Discount to any family that has more than 1 child enrolled full-time in the program! This does not apply to punch card purchases

Payments are accepted on a weekly or monthly basis. 

Kids should pack a snack!



If school is closed...

Program will be held on early dismissal/staff development days (see calendar for detailed schedule). However, the program will not be held when schools are closed due to inclement weather. If school is dismissed early due to inclement weather, the After School REC progam will resume at dismissal and parents will have one hour from the time of dismissal to pick up their child.


How to Register

Register online, visit our office, or call before coming to the program!  Here is how you can submit payment:




  • Submit payment to Joann (a Supervisor of the program) weekly (on Thursdays) or monthly.  Payment is for the upcoming week or month.  


  • Mail a check to the Parks and Rec office
