Sit and Get Fit Testimony
One would think that exercising while sitting in a chair would be easy with no benefits.  I was skeptical as well.  I am here to tell you that after taking the Sit and Get Fit class, two nights per week, for two sessions, I have increased energy, improved mobility and balance, along with increased strength and an improved core.
The instructor of this class, Kim Hicks, leads us through each exercise and explains which group(s) the exercise benefits.  Kim encourages us to do the best that we can based on any limitations we may have.  The class is fun and really works out your core.
In just two sessions I am now able to bend to pick up things from the floor without having to hold on to something for the fear of falling.  I am able to lift my legs to get them into the car, or to put pants on without having to lift my legs with the assistance of my hands lifting hem.  These are major steps for me as I spent much of January in the hospital for a heart attack and stroke, etc,
I look forward to each class.  I really like my classmates and Kim.  I enjoy our interactions and comradery we develop during each class.

I feel that my participation in the “Sit and Get Fit” program was a contributing factor, along with PT and desire, to my recovery after a total knee replacement.  After 67 of abuse, my knee had reached the point that distance walking and even low impact exercise was painful.
This program allowed me to maintain a level of flexibility and muscle tone.  Besides that it’s a good group of folks to be around.  We all do what we can.

Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t get an effective workout with seated aerobics!  Heart rate up and muscles burn!  All muscle groups targeted.  Combine that with diet guidance, wonderful fellowship, and a relaxed atmosphere, we have a great program here!!
